new goals

I've set new goals and with that, new challenges.  Starting the month of June, the workout schedules will change to the following:

  • Swimming practice: twice a week
  • Bike riding practice: once a week
  • Yoga practice: once a week
  • OTF: twice a week

The first two are quite challenging but I will not stop until I learn to comfortably do both.

detoxing again...

I'm trying to get back to my super healthy self and beyond.  This time I'll push harder.  I will try to detox every 3 months.  I'll eat healthy and work out 5-6 times a week.  I'll run twice a week, practive hot yoga once or twice a week, and do body works plus abs twice a week, and eat less carbs and processed food.

Day 2 of 3-day detox, so far so good.

new year's healthy resolutions

I'm starting the new year with healthy resolutions.  First off, it's dry January for me.  This means no alcohol for a whole month. But wait, I'm not stopping there.  I started this ban on alcohol a couple of days before the new year and will extend it till the day after Valentine's day.  Why? I'm planning to have a photo session on February 15th.  Vanity can be a good source of motivation sometimes.  Second, on this first weekend of the year, I'm doing a 3-day detox cleanse (from Dr. Oz).  I did it once last Summer and thought now was a good time to start off the new year doing something good for my body.  After the detox, I'm going to follow a high protein low carb diet while maintaining my usual calorie intake.  That is, lots of lean white meat, vegetables and fruits.  Last but not least, kicking up a notch with my exercise routines.  Sundays and Thursdays for hot yoga (power 1 at red hot yoga studios). Mondays and Saturdays for cross training (body works plus abs at LA Fitness). Wednesdays and Fridays for running (4-6 miles).  Tuesdays for a little bit of rest. Disclaimer: exercise days may vary some days but will try to stick to the schedule as much as I can.

still green but almost blue

I had a great workout again last night. This time I ran first and did the one hour bodyworks + abs afterwards. Dripping in sweat can be uncomfy but feels great nevertheless.

today's efitness

I officially start my efitness lifestyle today by blogging about my current Nike+ running status and today's workout routine.

My Nike+ level is Green. I'm 38.5 miles to Blue. I'm about to start training for the July 4th 10k Peachtree race.

This morning workout:
9:45 AM - One hour Body Works Plus Abs at LA Fitness: main focus was upper body
10:45 AM - 34 min run on the treadmill (3.5 miles)

A healthy meal is a major part of a fit lifestyle. I bought a counter mini oven to cook baked food. Tonight's dinner will be baked skinless and boneless chicken tights with a side of arugula and avocado salad.
